Printmaking without a press is nothing new but the artist's particular monoprint
method developed in 2008 is possibly unique. She has yet to find this technique anywhere
else within the field of contemporary printmaking.
From each master drawing several versions of the same portrait head are created.
Every layer of ink deliberately retains evidence of trials and errors, reinforcing
the idea that each face offers a succession of flickering glances, not just a single
frozen gaze.
The presence of two or three adjacent versions also adds to the sense of time passing
for the individual, changes of mood perhaps, a shifting personality, even a developing
narrative.
Each monoprint is created with coloured printing inks on white or tinted paper and
sold with a quality cream mount, either as an individual print or as part of a diptych
or triptych.
Framing, packing and delivery by arrangement.
