As a multimedia artist, my research interests have always centred on visual and verbal
ideas, exploring themes of subjectivity, identity and disguise.
For a number of years I have been depicting myself and others in ways that acknowledge
not only the impact of digital photography and computer graphics, but also the rigour
of my Fine Art training in 2D and 3D figure studies.
Verbal ideas about portraiture have resulted in my first book, Turner’s Cracked Kettle.
J M W Turner, RA is the subject of this entertaining mix of art, literature and
life, offering readers an intriguing mystery story about the painter's only major
self-portrait.
I am currently preparing my second book, Tell It Like a Stranger : Selected Poems.
A number of the poems reflect my interests in identity and disguise, dealing with
who we are, who we think we are and how we negotiate our way through life.
